What happens when Japanese and Bulgarian puppeteers get together and start making theater? What connects them, if they are so far from each other in terms of mentality, geographically, historically, linguistically, technologically... ?
The basis of the film narrative is the work on a joint project in which the PUK Theater from Tokyo and the Sofia Puppet Theater got together for the realization of the performance "The Story of a Seagull and the Gang of Tomcats" (by L. Sepulveda), directed by Katya Petrova. It depicts the work on the project, in which the actors act together on various stages in Japan in both languages and that does not bother the audience.
The documentary narrative grows into an exploration of the long history of these relationships. It is a comprehensive picture of this unique friendship and joint work dating back to 1958 that any society can be proud of. One film about overcoming cultural differences and mutual spiritual enrichment through the language of art.
